Dukan – Consolidation Day 80

Daily Weight: 147 lbs
Goal Weight: 155 lbs

Spent the night last night in Shanghai and after dropping off Suz at the airport I headed back by subway to the train station and then the train back to Hangzhou.

My driver, Jerry, picked me up at the train station and took me to the Wet Market to buy meat and veggies… so much cheaper than the grocery store!

I then got home and started packing boxes for my move home in September. I packed two boxes and will ship them on Thursday… September 20th… leaving for U.S. date 🙂

Breakfast: Buffet at the Courtyard Marriott… I had a 3 egg omelet with onions, peppers and mozzarella cheese.
Lunch on the train: Beef jerky and a handful of almonds
Snack: Yogurt with Splenda and cinnamon
Dinner: Stir fried pork with onions and asparagus. Dipped that in Tamari (which is soy sauce without wheat in it) and wasabi… Oh My Was That Good!

Dinner Cooking 🙂

Dinner Plated!

Now I’m off for a 5 km run and then bed. I hope you all enjoy your Monday!

Ciao!

Monday, June 4
got picked up by driver to head airport. Hangzhou to Beijing, Beijing to JFK… Here’s a shot from over Siberia… It really is frozen tundra!

20120610-203725.jpg

Get into JFK pretty much on time, only to wait 1 hour and 40 minutes for my bags. Major panic, get through customs, race to airport train to go to AA building, still need to check in, recheck bags, get through security and they are already boarding… Major panic… People get me through quick, I’m trying to breathe, and I get on 2nd to last… Phew! Then we sat on the Tarmac for one and a half hours! Argh! Finally up, up and away and this gorgeous sunset off the coast of NC…

20120610-205036.jpg

Finally got to Miami and Miri’s smiling face there to pick me up!

Tuesday, June 5
Up before the crack of dawn and out for a run… I love my hometown!

And sushi with my niece, Amanda 🙂 Then off to visit the kids and grandkids, then a run/walk with Michele and Michael and dinner.

Wednesday, June 6
Up early, breakfast with Tiffany and then out to Okeechobee to visit my friend Julia, who is not only a super awesome friend, but is hands down the best massage therapist in the world! Two hours of myofascial therapy, craniosacral therapy and some lymph work. Lunch with her son at Golden Corral and then back to her office for another hour or so of traditional massage. It was all amazing. Then back to Port St Lucie to pick up Sydnie for the night.

Thursday, June 7
Breakfast with Sydnie…

20120610-211522.jpg

And dropped her off to school. Then back to motel and Jenni, Sadie, Tiffany and Joey came over to spend time in pool with me. Wore a bikini, LOL… That seems weird to me.

I then headed 90 miles south to check out a 1973 Airstream Land Yacht… I bought it!

20120610-211811.jpg

20120610-211832.jpg

Then raced back up to home to pick up Sadie from camp so we could go to Jammin’ Jensen with my friends… Just writing this makes me feel like I haven’t had a holiday, lol! Here’s some pics from the awesome time I had with my friends…

20120610-212058.jpg

20120610-212122.jpg

Then over to our friend Denise’s house, since she had neck surgery and couldn’t come out to play, we took the party to her…

20120610-212236.jpg

20120610-212301.jpg

Then off to bed with Sadie, so I can get up early to head 5 hours north in the morning!

Friday, June 8
Up early, drop Sadie to her mommy and hit the road. First stop, 2 hour drive to Daytona to see Shauna, Mouna and Fiona. Lovely visit. Then another 1.5 hours to Ocala to register for the 5K and get my BIB… How exciting! My first BIB!!

20120610-212913.jpg

Then another hour drive up to get my mom and an hour back to Ocala to meet my friend Teri, who came down to support me 🙂 Dinner Outback, visit with my nephew and his wife and kids and then to bed!

Saturday, June 9 – RACE DAY!

What a rush! My friend Gail told me I’d start out to quick and she was right… My first kilometer was in 7:12… I slowed my pace, walked some, ran, met a lovely lady named Trisha, picked up discarded cups (I know, I know) and finished. It was awesome.

Then breakfast and back to hotel to pack and hit the road… 9 hour drive to North Carolina with my mom to her best friend Sandy’s house. This is the lady I was named after 🙂

Tagged: Most Embarrassing Night Involving a Toilet

So, I got this message from my buddy Sandy over at TheSandyTongue. A challenge. One that, if asked by anyone else, I probably wouldn’t do… LOL. But his posts keep me in stitches. Even the ones I don’t agree with. I try really HARD not to read his posts at work, because I laugh so loud they KNOW I’m not working! So here goes…

Hello dear, I nominated you, enjoy:http://thesandytongue.wordpress.com/2012/04/27/tmi-most-embarrasing-night-involving-a-toilet/

In the fall of 1983 I was a 19 year old mother of 2 and recently separated from husband Number 1, due to finding him screwing a 16 year old in our bed, while my 2 year old was playing in the living room and I was grocery shopping… this happened at 5 weeks post-partum.

Needless to say, I was suffering from raging postnatal depression AND situational depression.

Said ex-husband (may he rest in peace… he died from the affects of alcoholism at the young age of 44) had 2 best friends, Rick and Tom. And they decided we were going out for a night on the town. The “happening place” in good ole Stuart, Florida was The Stage East. **Please note, when I was 19, back in 1983, you could still legally drink alcohol at that age, it changed the following July 1, and my little sister (just 19 months younger than me) had to wait to 21 (not that she did… lol).

Anyhoo… I have not much recollection of that night except I had 3 rum and cokes, 2 Long Island ice teas and 2 pina coladas. We then went to an “after party” at Rick’s house. Where I apparently threw up on every surface of his bathroom, except the ceiling. Although, according to Rick, I almost hit the ceiling with it 🙂 I then passed out, hit my head on the bathtub and woke up in the hospital.

Not a proud moment, to be sure. I have never, ever been drunk since then. I have actually never, ever had more than 2 drinks in one 24 hour setting. I’m the designated driver. I would say that I’ve probably had 3 drinks this year, so far, and the last one was on the plane coming back to China where I dumped 1/2 of one of those little airplane sized Bacardi bottles into a diet coke… the other 1/2 is still in my cupboard… that was February 9th.

I wasn’t invited back out to party with that group. Rick said it took 3 of them 2 hours to clean the bathroom from the vomit and blood… more embarrassing that you can imagine.

And that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

Ciao!

Dukan – Vacation update

So a quick update since I’ve received numerous emails about not blogging 😀

I’ve lost weight. I met and exceeded my goal to lose 70 pounds by February 11th. I’ve stayed true to my Dukan life-style during my 16 days so far on vacation, with the exception of a glass of wine x 2 and a bit more bacon than I should be eating… LOL

I’ve been walking with a friend nearly every morning before sunrise, which has been awesome, it’s cool, dark and quiet… About 4 miles or so.

I’ve seen just about everyone and have really enjoyed my visit home. Trip ends in a few days and I’ll be back in China and back on my tea eggs and back to daily blogging.

Ciao!

Dukan – Day 154 -Slumber Party with my Girlies

Saturday was a PP day.

Daily weight loss: +1.1 lb

Today was a fun day! Slept in to 520 a.m. Woo hoo! Denise and I went to the B & A flea market in Stuart, where I picked up a Life-Purpose-Passion t-shirt from Dave Williams.

Then had a burger at 5 Brothers Burgers with Denise. Then off to the party supply store for slumber party supplies and then up to Tiffany’s house to hang with the GRANDKIDS for a while. We went to a park where the kids ran around and rode their bikes and I got to see my pseudo-daughter, Ashley, and my pseudo-GRANDKIDS, Faelynn and Aireanna.

Then back to Denise’s to cook for the slumber party. I made Pork Lomo for dinner, using the recipe from The Hapa Couple, substituting the beef for pork. YUMMY! I am really enjoying cooking. There was tons of naughty food and I blessedly was able to resist. I even slept with a plate of THIN MINTS next to my head. The other thing I realized is that besides a cup of coffee in the morning, I drank nothing but water all day 🙂

There were 7 of us, and besides our new friend Shannon, we’ve all been friends for more than 35 years… How awesome is that? I started falling asleep at the beginning of The Sound of Music, and of corse got teased about it… Curled up on the couch surrounded by my girlies and slept feeling so happy and loved… I am so blessed to be able to hang with the best girls in the world!

Having a great vacation home!

Ciao!

Quote of the day: Best friends know all about you and love you anyway.

It gets better every year!

I am home for 2 weeks to visit my family and to celebrate Martin County High School’s Class of 1981 30th reunion. What a blast we’ve had. Our motto through high school was “beer, sex, tequila and rum we’re the Class of 81″… We continue to live by that credo… LOL We have so much fun when we’re all together!

The reunion committee and a few others, including my mom, got together on Thursday evening to do last minute planning in Jensen Beach. Jammin’ Jensen is held every Thursday night and brings vendors and locals together. Here’s a pic from that night… Cindy, Leslie and Denise.

Friday night was the pub crawl… we started at Sailor’s Return, then walked under the bridge to Pelican Cafe then crawled to Mulligan’s… it was a huge success!!!

This is me, Debbie and Denise…

Saturday night was our dinner night at The Dolphin Bar & Shrimp House. We had a great time! You can see more pics of this fun night at the site that our amazing photographer, Aleisha Garcia, created here.

We even had some crazy planking going on!

Sunday was our traditional picnic day, but we had it at Indian Riverside Park instead of Stuart Beach. Thank goodness we had the picnic in the morning, because by 1 pm, the thunderbusters were rolling in!

Two of my favorite people in the world! Denise and Julia!

Me and Lisa Pantzer… Lisa and I grew up in the same neighborhood.

I think a good time was had by all!

One of the things that I notice as we get older and approach (gasp!) 50, is that we are getting so much cooler. So much more relaxed and comfortable with ourselves… who we are, what we do, our pasts and our futures. I know that I enjoy myself and all my former classmates more and more each reunion. Why is that? Is it just us growing up? Maturing?

Thanks again Class of 81 for a great weekend! I look forward to planning the cruise for our 50th birthdays in 2013!
