Dukan – Day 12 – Day 4 Cruise Phase and a Celebration!

Today is a PV Day… Protein + Veggies

Daily Loss: 0.4 lb/.18 kg
Total Loss: 15.9 lb/7.23 kg
Wt. to go: 94.1 lb/42.8 kg

First… a pat on my back. SIX YEARS AGO TODAY I QUIT SMOKING! I feel like a superhero! It was the single most hardest things I’ve ever done in my life and I am so, so, so much better for it! So now I think, if I can quit smoking, I can quit eating bad food! And I am!

Breakfast: Two boiled eggs and 2 slices of salmon with fromage frais and onions on top… Yum!
Snack: pot of yogurt
Lunch: 3 slices of turkey
Snack: Pot of yogurt with splenda and oat bran
Dinner: Chicken breast with sauteed mushrooms and a whole big onion cut in wedges

After dinner settles (I’m eating it while I’m typing), I will go for my walk. I’m raising it to 24 minutes. It’s 9 p.m. and it’s still 100 F here in the desert… ugh. I’ll take a 1.5 liter bottle of water and use it as weight and as rehydration 🙂

I’m grateful for all of the support I’m getting from everyone! Y’all are awesome!

 

Dukan – Day 11 – Day 3 Cruise Phase

Today is a PP day… Pure Protein.

Daily Loss: 2 lbs/0.91 kg (not sure why it was so much!)
Total Loss:  15.5 lbs/7.05 kg!!! and over a stone (for my British friends!)
Wt. to go: 94.5 lbs/43 kg

 

I had a really good day. Started out with an egg and 2 turkey slices. Snack of a pot of fromage frais. Lunch of a small sirloin and shrimp. Dinner a lovely perch and some left over sirloin bits. Snack was a pot of yogurt with oat bran and splenda… yum.

I got lots accomplished today which gave me even more incentive to keep going.

And to top it all off, I got a fabulous spread sheet from a fellow Dukaner named Charlotte who ROCKS! So… no more tracker. 🙂 I’ll post the info at the top of each blog.

Dukan – Day 10 – Day 2 Cruise Phase

Still enjoying the program. Haven’t wavered a bit, which is awesome for me! I’m down 13 pounds and feeling GREAT!!!

Yesterday I had the usual high protein fare, but had 3 asparagus spears with dinner… YUMMY! I miss veggies the most, especially salads and I am REALLY missing putting sesame seeds on everything. But I’m hanging in there. To see a bit of weight off every single morning, gives me enough incentive to make it through another day.

I am walking 22-25 minutes a night… late, since I live in the Middle East and it is still 100 degrees Fahrenheit at 9 p.m.! I’m also getting in my 1.5 Liter of water per day, which is so necessary here in the desert. I am feeling more hydrated!

Today I had eggs for breakfast, a couple of slices of turkey for snack, and then again for lunch with a cup of yogurt. Afternoon snack was another cup of yogurt to which I added 2 splenda and my 1.5 TBS of oat bran. Dinner was sirloin steak and shrimp… today was a pure protein day, so no veggies… but there is always tomorrow! 🙂

Dukan – Day 8 Attack Phase

I was going to start the Cruise phase today, but I decided to give it two more days of the Attack Phase. I’m sailing along, and happy with how things are going. I was out of town for 3 days and didn’t go off the program at all 🙂

Breakfast: 2 hard fried eggs (no oil or butter used). 2 beef sausage links and 3 slices of turkey bacon.
Snack: Yogurt
Lunch: 2 slices of turkey, 2 boiled eggs
Dinner: Shrimp sauteed in a teeny bit of oil and onions.
Snack: Yogurt with splenda and oat bran

Drinking lots of water, meeting my 1.5 liters + per day and then a couple of diet cokes and a cup of coffee… Here’s the updated ticker 😀 11.5 pounds in 10 days… WOOT!

Dukan – Days 6 & 7 Attack Phase

I’ve been out of town these past 2 days, but I’ve stuck to the program!

As of this morning I was down another 1.5 pounds. I didn’t bring my laptop, so know ticker update until tomorrow night 🙂

Tomorrow I start the Cruise phase! Adding veggies, however appealing, makes me wonder if I’ll continue with this awesome weight loss!

Total weight loss so far 11.5 pounds.

Dukan – Day 5 Attack Phase – 10 pounds lost in ONE WEEK!

Had a very productive day, got lots of stuff done, showed some newbies to Al Ain around the city, went to Bawadi Mall, had lunch (protein only!) at a Brit pub and did a couple of loads of laundry! SO MUCH ENERGY!

Most exciting… I LOST 10 POUNDS! 10 POUNDS!!!!! As of this morning’s weigh in! AND… I’ve lost a full point on the BMI!

Breakfast: 2 eggs, coffee, water
Mid-morning snack: 2 slices turkey breast, water
Lunch at the Hilton: 2 fried eggs (no oil or butter!), bacon and sausage, diet coke
Mid-afternoon snack: water
Dinner: Stir fried pork with onions and garlic and a pot of yogurt with 1.5 TBS oat bran and 1 tsp of Splenda.

Have lots of energy now and still in ketosis!

Dukan – Day 4 Attack Phase

What a liberating day I’ve had! I’ve lost more weight, I’m in ketosis, I cut off all my hair and I had the challenge of having a dinner in a restaurant and got through it just fine!

Breakfast: 2 eggs, 500 mL water, coffee
Mid-Morning snack: slice of smoked salmon, water, coffee
Lunch: sauteed chicken breast, egg and yogurt with bran, sip of “diet coke” wasn’t sure it was, so stuck with water.
Mid-Afternoon snack: missed
Dinner: was an Iftar dinner at the Rotana. I had grilled chicken and steak, water, diet coke

Dukan – Day 3 Attack Phase

So, today I did not eat enough!  I just couldn’t seem to find the time. I was off today and had a million errands to run. No excuse for not eating enough. I didn’t go off the program, I ate the foods I was suppose to, just not enough. Funny that, when you’re on a “diet”.

Breakfast a cup of coffee, then out the door to drop Lucy off at work. When I should have been having my mid-morning snack I was at the bank. I did have a guzzle of water, but that was about it. Lunch was good. A nice big organic chicken breast… boneless and skinless, that I cubed and stir fried with a handful of onions, a cup of non-fat yogurt with 1.5 TBS of oat bran stirred in and a bit of Splenda to sweeten. Mid-Afternoon snack was 2 slices of butterball turkey breast (a huge score at the super expensive grocery store!). Then it was off to Iftar (break fast) dinner at work to celebrate Ramadan. Well, there was no grilled meat which is typical Arabic food fare! WTF? Argh. So, while everyone ate some yummy looking food, I had a diet coke… I was quite pleased with myself 🙂 Then I had 2 more slices of the turkey breast just now.

I did treat myself to a 1 hour massage tonight. And I am in ketosis! YAY! While the Thai massage therapists (yes, there were 2 of them!!) were massaging me, I was imagining them activating the fat cells to mobilize out of my body!!! If I think it, it will happen!

Here’s my weight loss from this morning… 8 pounds in 5 days! WOOT!

Dukan – Day 2 Attack Phase

Well I found out a lot about myself these past 2 days… I really don’t like plain yogurt, I really, really don’t like non-fat plain yogurt, fromage frais tastes the same as non-fat plain yogurt, but… I can eat it if it means losing 7 pounds in 4 days!!!

Today’s menu included eggs, more eggs and even more eggs… LOL. It also included a oat bran pancake (Dukan gallette), Luc Lac Beef… which after marinating all night in garlic, fresh ginger, soy sauce and oyster sauce was DELISH! I had non-fat yogurt mixed in with the juices from the marinade and TONS of water.

Tonight I had 2 small sirloin steaks, stir fried in a teeny amt of vegetable oil and with onions and garlic thrown in at the last minute… I am STUFFED!

One thing I have noticed is that I am not having any upper abdominal bloating and discomfort since I am not consuming any gluten products. So, even though I’m stuffed, I’m not uncomfortable.

I consumed more than 1.5 liters of water today in addition to 2 diet cokes, a cup of coffee and a cup of Earl Gray tea. I can’t believe I’m actually drinking as much water as I am! It’s been tough for me to adhere to drinking water rules in the past, the result is hourly trips to the bathroom, but I realize this means I’m flushing bad stuff out!

So that’s the end of Day 2 of the Attack Phase of the Dukan program. I’m feeling great! Now I’m off for a nice 20 minute walk…
