Dukan – Day 26

hmmmm, no scale to weigh myself on ๐Ÿ˜ฆ tomorrow I will go to the medical center down the street & ask to weigh in ๐Ÿ™‚

Also, the wordpress on my iPad doesn’t show the words I’m typing, so I’m going on faith that this makes sense… LOL
Breakfast: 500 mL water, coffee, 2 boiled eggs.
Lunch: 3 pork ribs, chopped up by very skilled chef… street food ๐Ÿ™‚
Dinner: Wok cooked beef with onions, diet coke
Drank a whole litre of water on a one hour walk today, beautiful weather.
Mood: Happy ๐Ÿ™‚ and I feel rested.

Dukan – Day 25 – Up, Up and Away

Early morning as I had a flight at 10 a.m. Quick coffee and big glass of water.
Then stuffing everything in my bag a and off to the airport by 0725 with Lucy. THANKS LUCY!!!

I’m on an Emirates 380. Biggest plane in the sky and gorgeous! I was able to upgrade to Business class for less than $100 USD ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m sitting in seat 6D and it’s comfy… Here’s the TV screen and the cubbyhole for my feet… but it’s my bag holder for the moment.

So, it is SO hard to turn down the amazingly yummy food this airline serves you, but I’m devoted to Dukan! My lunch appetizer was Seared Tuna Loin coated with white sesame seeds, on a light cauliflower panna cotta (didnt eat)with a tomato and soy dressing and warm fresh bread that I smelled, but didn’t touch and tested myself with leaving it on the tray and ignoring it… LOL ๐Ÿ˜€ I did eat the salad… It’s a PV day after all!

The main course was Seared Tenderloin topped with shallot sauce (that I begrudgingly scraped off), served with roast potatoes (also left on the plate) and some roasted veggies… Bell pepper, carrot and parsnips… I made sure I didn’t get any of that shallot gravy on them ๐Ÿ™‚

I did decide to have a couple of pieces of cheese. I’ve been good, I’ve been in ketosis for 3 weeks now and it felt a little like cheating. A cup of chamomile tea and listening to Adele in my headset…nice flight thus far.

I finally got to watch the end of Arthur… Missed the last 20 minutes on my flight to Abu Dhabi in August! I like Russell Brand, he’s pretty funny.

I also watched Something Borrowed and the movie that Ethel and Lucy have talked so much about… The Adjustment Bureau… Crazy movie!

Now I’m off to bed… G’nite everyone!

Dukan… been busy

Just wanted to update everyone. I am continuing to lose weight ๐Ÿ™‚ I have been very busy the last few days preparing for a trip. I am happy to report from last weigh in I’ve lost another 2 kgs, so about 5 pounds!!!! woo hoo.

I’ll write an updated blog in a few days.

Let’s just say there is a lot to be happy about ๐Ÿ˜€ Happy is good!

Dukan – Day 21 – Day 13 Cruise

No weigh in this morning… got up late and didn’t strip off and weigh in, but all’s good.

This is a message I got from Dukan US this morning… I’m disappointed because I really feel that reading each other’s blogs is so supportive and encouraging at the same time!

      Today:
      Breakfast: Yogurt with splenda and oat bran and coffee and water.
      Lunch: Roast beef, a bit more well done than I like. Bottled water and diet coke.
      Afternoon: Coffee & a small chicken breast, grilled to perfection by the kitchen staff.
      Dinner: 4 slices of turkey breast, diet coke, water.
      Snack: Greek yogurt w/ splenda… still trying to get used to how thick that is!
      Now I’m off for a walk and then to bed!

Total Loss: 17.9 lb/8.14 kg

Daily Loss: 2.0 lb/0.91 kg ย WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!
Total Loss: 19.9 lb/9.05 kg SO STINKIN’ CLOSE TO 20 POUNDS… JUST OUNCES TO GO!!!!!!!
Wt. to go: 90.1 lb/41 kg

I was so ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ย when I stepped on the scale this morning. The two days together equal a 3.3 pound loss. How amazing is that!?!?!? I am SO close to 20 pounds of loss in just 3 weeks!

Yesterday I ate very well, it was a PP day and Lucy and I traveled to Dubai for the weekend to just get out of town, relax, get away from work and stress and to SHOP for bags… which we did. Dinner was a yummy steak and with a whole onion cut up. I tried to make Pepper Steak with FF Fromage Frais… yeah, that doesn’t work… LOL, it turned into like a chewy cheesy thing, although I did eat a bit of it ๐Ÿ™‚

This morning we were up and out of the house early to drop Lucy’s dad off at the airport and then to Karama Street (famous area in Dubai for getting bargain buys)… we took the advise of a friend of mine ( THANKS BECS!!!!) and totally scored. Here’s my buy:

Lunch at an Arabic restaurant, beef and chicken grilled mix and some cucumbers and bell peppers… funny how much better they all taste when you miss them! And early dinner with Elizabeth and Lucy at Shakespere’s… I had a steak sandwich minus the bread and the french fries… it was yummy!

I’ve just had my first pot of Greek yogurt… yummy, but TOO THICK! It felt like eating peanut butter! It’ll take some getting used to.

So I’m celebrating an awesome weekend!

Dukan – Day 18 – Day 10 Cruise

Well… no time to weigh myself this morning… cuz the Dulcolax woke me up. I didn’t want a result that wasn’t accurate, so I bypassed the weigh in. In regard to the Dulcolax, it worked… somewhat. I’m still feeling quite constipated. I’m still deciding what my next step is!

Today was a PV day. I didn’t eat as much as I should have. It’s been a shit week at work, not enough sleep, an overnight laborer (those of us in the birthing industry refer to it as “Death by Primip”) due to the fact that it takes FOREVER and a day to have the baby. I haven’t had time or energy to go to the market to pick up essentials, so my meals went as follows:

Breakfast: 500 mL water, cup of coffee (BAD SANDI!)

Lunch: Two little steaks cooked by the chef at work… he always surprises me. Now if I could get him to make it a little pink and not so well done ๐Ÿ™‚ He also inquired whether veggies were on my diet today and I told him yes, so he sent up a gorgeous plate of steamed broccoli, cauliflower and squash… the chef rocks! I also had a diet coke, and about 250 mL water.

Afternoon snack: Big coffee made by the cafe girls special just for me. The cafe is in our atrium at the hospital and I watched over the railing as they made it. I love that they stir in the FF CoffeeMate and then “whir” it in the machine thingy. Makes me feel special that so many people are on board with my weight loss!

Dinner: At StoneGrill… again. Yummy, tender, moist meat. Had the tenderloin, that you grill on your own hot stone in front of you…. YUMMY!!! I had steamed broccoli and cauliflower with this meal, as well. If I’m not moving things through after all these damn veggies… I’m going to be a mighty grumpy girl!!!

I’m lacking a bit on the water… I sipped more through the day, but I’m going to down 250 mL before I go to bed to make sure I get it all in. No walk tonight… I’ll do it in the morning and then again in the evening. I have NO ENERGY LEFT!

Dukan – Day 17 – Day 9 Cruise

Today was a PP Day (I’m doing 2 PP and 1 PV alternatively)

Daily Loss: 0.0 lb/0.0 kg
Total Loss: 16.6 lb/7.55 kg
Wt. to go: 93.4 lb/42.5 kg

So, I didn’t have a weight loss today, but I’m not discouraged, because I didn’t have a weight gain either ๐Ÿ™‚ I am pretty sure that after I take the Dulcolaxย tonight before bed, I’ll have some weightloss in the morning ๐Ÿ˜€ It’s been 5 days and I’m a bit uncomfortable to say the least!

Breakfast: Yogurt with splenda and oat bran (obviously not working!!!!!) and before that I drank 500 mL of COLD WATER and then 250 mL of HOT COFFEE and still nothing ๐Ÿ˜ฆ LOL
Mid-Morning: a cup of coffee with splenda and FF CoffeeMate, made special by the baristas down in the cafe at the hospital I work at… they are the BEST!
Lunch: A plate of roast beef, less cooked than the day before, a diet coke, 500 mL of water.
Mid-Afternoon: another cup of my special coffee and another 500 mL of water
Dinner: Mixed grill from the Lebanese restaurant, beef and chicken grilled over the fire… yum! They also threw in a yummy grilled half onion, slightly blackened on the outside… mmm, mmm!!!! Diet Coke.

I then walked for 28 minutes… FAST and drank another 500 mL I’m just cooling off from the walk in 97 degree heat and then a quick shower and bed… I’m hoping for some good results in the morning ๐Ÿ˜‰

Dukan โ€“ Day 16 โ€“ Day 8 Cruise

Today was a PP Day

Daily Loss: 0.3 lb/0.14 kg
Total Loss: 16.6 lb/7.55 kg
Wt. to go: 93.4 lb/42.5 kg

Small weight loss from yesterday to today, but it’s a loss, and that’s all that matters. Still a bit knackered from the 28 hours of no sleep, but recovering.

Food today:
Breakfast: Yogurt w/ splenda and oat bran
Lunch: about 5 oz. of sliced roast beef, WAY over cooked ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
Dinner: Chicken and shrimp stir-fried in a teeny amount of olive oil with a whole onion cut into wedges and lots of rosemary and pepper and a wee bit of salt.

No time for snacks today. Meetings at work all morning until lunch, then the media came for interviews about the birth and information on water birth and then another meeting in the afternoon.

I did get my water in and my other drinks were 2 coffees and a diet coke. I took a nice long walk tonight, picking up my pace with the sound track from G.I. Jane… kick ass sound track!

Now off to bed to start it all over again tomorrow!

Dukan – Day 15 – Day 7 Cruise

Well, I didn’t get a chance to blog yesterday because I went in to work on my day off (at 8 a.m.) to do a practice drill and we ended up with a real patient in real labor… our first! I left this morning… 27 HOURS LATER, completely shattered, but happy that I didn’t go off my program AND I even got a 30 minute walk in with the pediatrician at 300 a.m.! BTW, it was STILL 97 degreesย Fahrenheitย at 3 a.m.!

I did manage to get away for an hour or so last night and had dinner at the StoneGrill. OMG was that yummy, yummy food! I asked for the chef to come out and explained my Dukan program to him and he brought me out 3 GORGEOUS sirloin medallions for me to cook on my own Stone Grill hot plate along with a bowl of sliced onions for me to grill, as well. Yeah, that was YUMMY! I was in heaven.

By the time I got home this morning I was starving. What I love is that the girls in the coffee cafe inside my hospital now make my coffee with the Fat Free Coffee Mate and still give it a steamy feel by using the machine to “fluff” it for me. That sustained me enough to drive home!

So now, I’ve had a 2.5 hour nap (wouldn’t sleep tonight if I slept too much) and I’m up and blogging. I’ll be back to my regular blogging tomorrow night, with an end of the day food round up!

Now off to finish eating the smoked salmon with FF fromage frais and onion bits on top… trying to ward of the cat ๐Ÿ™‚

Dukan – Day 13 – Day 5 Cruise

Total Loss: 15.9 lb/7.23 kg
Wt. to go: 94.1 lb/42.8 kg

I weighed exactly the same this morning as I did yesterday morning ๐Ÿ˜ฆ First time that has happened, but I’m cool with that. I’m sticking to the program and that is what counts. What makes me the happiest… my panties aren’t so tight ๐Ÿ˜€ hehe ย They’re my barometer for weight gain and loss!

I had an AWESOME day today. Went to Abu Dhabi and my friend Karen and I went out on my friend Islam’s boat to LuLu Island, we swam, sun-baked, took a long walk and had a wonderful BBQ of pure meat for me! Steak and chicken kabobs… YUMMY!

Breakfast: Salmon with Fromage Frais and onions + 1 boiled egg

Snack: Pot of Yogurt with oat bran and splenda

Then nothing else until the BBQ which just about did me in. I went 6.5 hour without food and it was tempting to taste the pastries and jelly beans being passed around, but I didn’t!! YAY ME ๐Ÿ™‚

Off to bed I go… I have happened to have 9 days off in a row because of the Eid holiday following Ramadan, gotta get back in the groove of work!
