Dukan – Day 36… Cruise Phase

PV Day
Weight Loss: 1.1 lb/0.5 kg
Total Loss: 23.1 lb/10.51 kg

Well, I think that excess water is almost gone πŸ™‚ My shoes are still a bit tight, but not as tight as they were! Great day, lots of walking (over an hour total!) and I ate pretty well.

Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs, 1/2 liter of water, coffee
Morning Snack: pot of FF yogurt, coffee, 1/2 liter water
Lunch: Salad greens w/ salmon roll ups, Diet Coke
Afternoon Snack: boiled egg, 1/2 liter water
Dinner: Shrimp boiled in green tea w/ herbs, soy beans with herbs and roasted red chili peppers, hot green tea, 1/2 liter of water

I bought a yogurt maker and made yogurt as well. Added splenda to it to sweeten it up a bit and I’ll look for FF/SF flavorings to add into them for a change up and let you know how that goes. All in all, a good day πŸ™‚

Ciao!

Dukan – Day 35

Well, this is certainly more like it!

Daily loss: 3.5 lb/1.6 kg
Total loss: 22 lb/10.1 kg WOO HOO!!!! Down 10 kgs!!!

So, I totally made sure I got a full 1.5 liters of water in me yesterday, in addition to the other things I drank… I added NO salt to anything and I cooked all of my own food.

Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs
Snack: 1 boiled egg…. told you I was going to eat eggs only (hehe)
Lunch: Shashimi
Snack: Pot of FF yogurt with bran and splenda
Dinner: 1/2 a chicken sauteed with a whole onion.

Obviously a pure protein day. A good day, indeed!

I realized that I was retaining water when I put on my brand new pumps, that I’ve worn 3 or 4 times now, and they were tight… so tight that I ended up with a huge bleeding blister on the back of the right ankle 😦 I think the pure protein day, along with the extra water helped flush all that out.

I also took 3 walks. Two 20 minute walks and one 30 minute walk after dinner, so that is bringing my walk time up to over an hour a day… feeling stronger and healthier.

Now to balance out my braggy pictures, I’m posting an equally adorable photo of my granddaughter Sydnie Renae, who rather dislikes having her photo taken, but sometimes she mugs it up for her “Momma”. Here she is on a bike ride through London in 2009:

😦 For some reason the pic won’t post… I’ll play around with it and get it to post in a bit…

Ciao!

Quick Dukan Check In

Well… I finally got a scale! YAY! And I weighed myself this morning and I gained 1/2 kg…. BOO!!! Hard traveling and eating right! I mean, I’ve been eating what I thinkΒ is right, but with meat that has fillers and whatever else, it’s been difficult.

I think the biggest bummer is that I’m exercising WAY more, so how the hell do I gain!?!? I’m up to 35 minutes of walking and while walking I get in 30 squats and 30 tricep push ups. So I’m a bit confused… and 3 nights this week the walks were UPHILL for the first 15 minutes! I mean Β STEEP uphill.

I’ve got a plan… I’m just going to eat EGGS! LOL, not really… but I am going shopping tomorrow and will get refocused and not rely on what others are feeding me. And I’ll check in again tomorrow and let you know how that is working out.

For now, I’d like for my readers to give a thought, blessing, prayer, whatever your preference is, to my daughter Jenni who is undergoing surgery this afternoon… that she will be healed. Our whole family will definitely appreciate it πŸ™‚

And a parting picture… this was taken of my granddaughter, Sadie Rose, on a trip to London 2 years ago… Aleisha reposted it, slightly edited on facebook yesterday and it is really my favorite pic of the 1000 or so pics she took over the course of 8 days. Here it is:

Dukan – Day 30 – Food and travel away from home

It’s hard to make sure what you are eating when you can’t cook it yourself. A good example of this would be the burger I ordered yesterday. When I took the first bite I realized that it had “filler”. Filler = gluten filled carbs or some other crap and I was SO disappointed. I sent it back and left the restaurant without eating. Ended up getting shashimi, and even though it was a PP day, I also ate a bowl of cucumber dipped in soy sauce and wasabi (wasabi is low carb and low fat… woo hoo!!!!).

So unless you stick to the “pure stuff”… steak, eggs, breast of chicken, it’s difficult to be absolutely sure that you’re sticking to the Dukan plan.

I decided to pamper myself with a Thai massage. I just wanted my feet done, massaged and reflexology… I ended up with sweaty palms and a dizzy feeling and begging the girl to stop, while she just laughed. It was funny, in a way, but very painful. She kept saying that my “lambo” was very, very bad… she was running along my lymph system and it sure as hell HURT! I mean, REALLY, REALLY HURT! Lymphatic drainage, from all I have read, should be light and non-painful! Anyhoo, she also did reflexology, which always amazes me because the places that hurt on my feet, correspond to the chart on the wall and they are the places that hurt on the rest of me… like my knees, and my uterus (which I don’t have). That part was awesome.

So here I am 4 hours later and I actually have BRUISING on my legs! BUT!!!! MY ankles are THINNER and so are my calves… I’m not kidding! I think she really got things moving along, even in her crazy way of doing it… hmmmmm. Anyone have any input here?
***I’ll post bruising pics from the iPad later πŸ™‚

I hope everyone is having a blessed week thus far!

Ciao!

Post A Week Challenge: Faces

I love the Weekly Challenges that WordPress encourages it’s bloggers to do. This challenge particularly caught my eye because I was purging pics and videos off my poor old Dell (she’s 4.5 years old!) last night and came across one of my all time favorite pictures.

Back story… I had spent 8 days in London and Paris with my mom, daughter Jenni, pseudo-niece Aleisha and granddaughters Sydnie and Sadie. My granddaughter Sadie, who was 5 the summer of 2009, came back to Abu Dhabi to spend 5 weeks with me. She loves gadgets and soon figured out stuff on my Canon PowerShot SX10 that even I didn’t know how to use! The feature that she figured out and played with the most was the timer on the camera.

So here is one of the pics she took of herself… I find it intriguing, dark, curious and of course… beautiful. She is lying on a Persian rug in my lounge…. talented lil bugger!

Dukan – Day 26

hmmmm, no scale to weigh myself on 😦 tomorrow I will go to the medical center down the street & ask to weigh in πŸ™‚

Also, the wordpress on my iPad doesn’t show the words I’m typing, so I’m going on faith that this makes sense… LOL
Breakfast: 500 mL water, coffee, 2 boiled eggs.
Lunch: 3 pork ribs, chopped up by very skilled chef… street food πŸ™‚
Dinner: Wok cooked beef with onions, diet coke
Drank a whole litre of water on a one hour walk today, beautiful weather.
Mood: Happy πŸ™‚ and I feel rested.

Dukan – Day 25 – Up, Up and Away

Early morning as I had a flight at 10 a.m. Quick coffee and big glass of water.
Then stuffing everything in my bag a and off to the airport by 0725 with Lucy. THANKS LUCY!!!

20110915-092213.jpg

I’m on an Emirates 380. Biggest plane in the sky and gorgeous! I was able to upgrade to Business class for less than $100 USD πŸ™‚ I’m sitting in seat 6D and it’s comfy… Here’s the TV screen and the cubbyhole for my feet… but it’s my bag holder for the moment.

20110915-092344.jpg

So, it is SO hard to turn down the amazingly yummy food this airline serves you, but I’m devoted to Dukan! My lunch appetizer was Seared Tuna Loin coated with white sesame seeds, on a light cauliflower panna cotta (didnt eat)with a tomato and soy dressing and warm fresh bread that I smelled, but didn’t touch and tested myself with leaving it on the tray and ignoring it… LOL πŸ˜€ I did eat the salad… It’s a PV day after all!

20110915-092448.jpg

The main course was Seared Tenderloin topped with shallot sauce (that I begrudgingly scraped off), served with roast potatoes (also left on the plate) and some roasted veggies… Bell pepper, carrot and parsnips… I made sure I didn’t get any of that shallot gravy on them πŸ™‚

20110915-092620.jpg

I did decide to have a couple of pieces of cheese. I’ve been good, I’ve been in ketosis for 3 weeks now and it felt a little like cheating. A cup of chamomile tea and listening to Adele in my headset…nice flight thus far.

20110915-092734.jpg

I finally got to watch the end of Arthur… Missed the last 20 minutes on my flight to Abu Dhabi in August! I like Russell Brand, he’s pretty funny.

I also watched Something Borrowed and the movie that Ethel and Lucy have talked so much about… The Adjustment Bureau… Crazy movie!

Now I’m off to bed… G’nite everyone!

Dukan… been busy

Just wanted to update everyone. I am continuing to lose weight πŸ™‚ I have been very busy the last few days preparing for a trip. I am happy to report from last weigh in I’ve lost another 2 kgs, so about 5 pounds!!!! woo hoo.

I’ll write an updated blog in a few days.

Let’s just say there is a lot to be happy about πŸ˜€ Happy is good!

Ciao!

Sandi

Oh… for added entertainment… here’s a pic taken last night with the bestest friends a girl could have while living overseas!

Dukan – Day 21 – Day 13 Cruise

No weigh in this morning… got up late and didn’t strip off and weigh in, but all’s good.

This is a message I got from Dukan US this morning… I’m disappointed because I really feel that reading each other’s blogs is so supportive and encouraging at the same time!

    • Dukan Diet – USΒ Sandy – please honor our request under FAQ “Facebook Guidelines” and do not post links to your blog. We love hearing about your success, so please continue to post. This is a rule for everyone. Thanks so much!

    • Sandi Sandelier BlankenshipΒ Sorry… didn’t read the FAQ’s… too bad you don’t allow it, I’m following 9 blogs written by people who are on the dukan diet and they are an amazing inspiration to me with wonderful ideas for keeping the program interesting… won’t post again though.
      Today:
Breakfast: Yogurt with splenda and oat bran and coffee and water.
Lunch: Roast beef, a bit more well done than I like. Bottled water and diet coke.
Afternoon: Coffee & a small chicken breast, grilled to perfection by the kitchen staff.
Dinner: 4 slices of turkey breast, diet coke, water.
Snack: Greek yogurt w/ splenda… still trying to get used to how thick that is!
Now I’m off for a walk and then to bed!
      Ciao!

Dukan – Days 19 & 20 – Days 11 & 12 Cruise

Friday was a PP Day (I’m doing 2 PP and 1 PV alternatively)
Saturday was a PV Day

Friday:
Daily Loss: 1.3 lb/0.59 kg
Total Loss: 17.9 lb/8.14 kg

Saturday:
Daily Loss: 2.0 lb/0.91 kg Β WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!
Total Loss: 19.9 lb/9.05 kg SO STINKIN’ CLOSE TO 20 POUNDS… JUST OUNCES TO GO!!!!!!!
Wt. to go: 90.1 lb/41 kg

I was so πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Β when I stepped on the scale this morning. The two days together equal a 3.3 pound loss. How amazing is that!?!?!? I am SO close to 20 pounds of loss in just 3 weeks!

Yesterday I ate very well, it was a PP day and Lucy and I traveled to Dubai for the weekend to just get out of town, relax, get away from work and stress and to SHOP for bags… which we did. Dinner was a yummy steak and with a whole onion cut up. I tried to make Pepper Steak with FF Fromage Frais… yeah, that doesn’t work… LOL, it turned into like a chewy cheesy thing, although I did eat a bit of it πŸ™‚

This morning we were up and out of the house early to drop Lucy’s dad off at the airport and then to Karama Street (famous area in Dubai for getting bargain buys)… we took the advise of a friend of mine ( THANKS BECS!!!!) and totally scored. Here’s my buy:

My new bags πŸ™‚

Lunch at an Arabic restaurant, beef and chicken grilled mix and some cucumbers and bell peppers… funny how much better they all taste when you miss them! And early dinner with Elizabeth and Lucy at Shakespere’s… I had a steak sandwich minus the bread and the french fries… it was yummy!

I’ve just had my first pot of Greek yogurt… yummy, but TOO THICK! It felt like eating peanut butter! It’ll take some getting used to.

So I’m celebrating an awesome weekend!

Ciao!
