Time flies by…

Can’t believe how fast time goes between posts! Nick is home. He still has the PICC line in and is receiving home nursing care for his medication and dressing changes. He’s still in quite a bit of pain from his incision, but healing and much better!

I’ve done a lot of walking the past couple of weeks. Long walks on my days off 7-8 miles most of those mornings and then 3 mile walks at night on the days that I work. I also got in a bike ride this past weekend.

Weight is about the same. A bit frustrating to say the least 😦 I am eating per Dukan/Paleo so it’ll come off.

That’s my update… I hope everyone is having an amazing week!

Ciao!

  1. Priase for Nick!!
I am terribly frustrated too! I have not done all the walking, but at least 2 a day or if not that tons of sweating and heavy breathing with yard work== I am dukan/paleo too, heavy – no fruits though. I am stuck. AND I am watching Keith drop his weight by ‘deciding’ to , and he has been to busy to work out :(.
I pray for our weight loss, by His guidance and strength.

    • Thank you, Christy… I was dairy heavy and cut way back… I pray for our weight loss, too!
And thanks for keeping Nick in your prayers. I’m heading up there tomorrow to go to the surgeon with him. I’ll have another update after 🙂

  2. So glad to hear that Nick is on the mend – I continue to send positive vibes his way.

It certainly is frustrating when you are eating clean and not seeing the scales move. Stay strong!

  3. So glad he is doing this much better!! WOW!

You’ve been through a terribly stressful time … and your body is saying “hold on, I might need that weight, this feels like life or death.”

I give you permission to take it easy on yourself and know that, once your boy is really out of the woods, all that other stuff will slide into place. It always does.

    Hugs
    MJ

    • Thanks so much, MJ… You’re so awesome, what an encouraging way to look at this. Putting my feet up and assuring myself that every little thing gonna be alright!

      • yep, just channel Bob Marley … “don’t worry … ’bout a ‘ting … cause every little ‘ting’s gonna be all right.”

  4. So happy with Nicks progress. And I agree ,stress is the bad guy. Keep your thoughts positive and all will be good. Let me know what the Doc says about Nicks progress. ❤

  5. I am glad to hear Nick is doing better!

I agree with what others have said — You have been stressed and your body is going into preservation mode. The weight will go away again.

I’ll be thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers.

  6. You and Nick have been on my mind. I missed this post, consequently did not get the update. It’s now a few days later…how is he? Hang in there. Your strength and your faith will hold you up…oh yeah, so will your many friends. I have much to tell you. Private email soon.

    • Hi Mona! I look forward to the email 🙂
Nick’s PICC line is out, he has healed miraculously well, exceeding the expectations of the surgeons! He starts back to work today… Weeks ahead of what they expected. Still lots of incision pain, but getting better each and every day 🙂
