Saturday was a PV Day (Protein/Veggie).
Daily weight loss: 0.4 lb/0.20 kg
Total weight loss: 60.3 lbs/27.41 kg
Yay ME! I am more than delighted. I didn’t want to get on the scale this morning. Yesterday was my 1st PV day after setting my body back in motion with 4 PP days.
Morning walk to work included a look at the frozen pond in front of my building. It better be warm when I get to Florida!
Breakfast: The usual, 2 tea eggs 🙂
Lunch: Beef jerky brought all the way to China from Illinois by my buddy Cathy (I thought it was the last one, but I found one more this morning… Score!) and 2 tea eggs.
Watched Steve and Tracy give a prenatal exercise and participated in the exercise part… Got the blood flow going! Worked on my annual report and a policy on Induction of Labor 😀
Then off to dinner with Steve and Vivien to the Vineyard. This is the place I had dinner on Thanksgiving. The kitchen is run by a Bostonian named Reuben and the place feels like home! He’s fabulous, cruises the tables, makes you feel welcome. He reminds me of my son, Nick! Very similar personalities. He made sure my order was low carb, semi low fat and definitely gluten free! I got the Philly steak w/o the bread or fries and with extra onions and green peppers and a bit of mozzarella cheese melted on top. The cheese was a bit of a cheat, but I earned it and once a month isn’t going to hurt, LOL, but was a bit of the reason I was afraid to get on the scale this morning (obviously didn’t effect me). I also had a beautiful green salad with cucumber strings, tomatoes and carrot strings and some grilled chicken. I shared it with Steve and Vivien. What a yummy dinner and while they sipped Jack Daniels and coke, I had a diet coke and 2 skinny lattes. Nice evening out in a very cool place that almost makes me forget where I’m living.
Dropped off and I took my backpack upstairs and got right back out the door for a 20 minute walk… No easy feat at 845 pm! I just wanted to get on my jammies! Back upstairs to read some wonderful comments from my post yesterday, some on the post and 11 private messages… All touched my heart. I’m on this amazing journey with some awesome people, some I know in person, others through the Internet over the years and some, my new friends through this blog, and we’re all just ordinary people working hard to make ourselves healthier. Thank you all for the inspiring messages xoxoxo
Quote of the day: “Don’t compromise yourself. You are all you’ve got.”

Many Congratulations!!!!!! What a fantastic loss. I really enjoy reading your posts, your comments are very inspiring. At this pace you will reach your target weight before April! I sometimes wonder if the transition between cruise and consolidation will be difficult. I suppose that every stage of this process has its challenges, but the key is being active – I’ve taken a leaf out of your book and am reading the Dukan book again, my favourite thought from yesterdays read “Is being active more unpleasant or difficult than dieting? – the answer is NO. Provided you are convinced that it works”.
PS – you had me in stitches the other day, I was reading one of your older posts about buying bra’s in China……….. Hilarious!!!!!!!! xoxoxo
LOL, I think that getting moving may be more difficult, but once you close the door behind you, you’ve literally taken the first step. Still no new bras. The current ones are funny to see. Can’t wait to get home next week and buy some! The good news is I’ve gone from using an extender on it’s loosest to the tightest one on the bra! THAT rocks 🙂
Once again I say change that picture at the top!! 🙂 ❤ I am so proud of you my friend 🙂 You are truly an inspiration.
Working on it. With the VPN issue it’s difficult. May try to get a few great shots when I get home and use them.
Sixty + lbs, YEAH!!!! Your pond maybe frozen but what a beautiful scene. Counting the days. Love Mom
I’m counting the days, too, Mom xoxox
Hello from central Canada (450 mi straight north of Minneapolis, MN). I’ve been lurking for a couple of months now and decided that today would be the day to commnet. Your blog messages have been my inspiration from the very first day I started (Sept 26/11) at 264 lbs. Since then (now 105 days) I’ve lost 42 lbs. and feel great. After reading the Dukan text – my ‘true’ weight target should be 164 lbs. and I’ve been led to believe that I should reach that goal sometime in June. At 68 years old I’m in no hurry. I, too, am gluten (celiac) intolerant and also suffer from lupus and various forms of arthritis. I mention this because (and this is not an excuse), I have a hard time doing exercise programs. The pain from the arthritis in my feet/toes at times is excrutiating. But, I’ve decided that I’m really going to have to start some form, albeit slowly. Having lost over 40 lbs. the skin folds are apparent now. I would love to hear back from you if you find the time – but in the meantime, I will continue on my attack diet (4 days PP, followed by 3 days PV and 5-6, 16 oz glasses of cold water each and every day). Yes, the excess water keeps me up at night, but I so enjoy seeing the weighit loss on the scale in the morning. Dukan has become my way of living now – and I refuse to turn back. It does work for me.
Oh Carly, CONGRATULATIONS!!! Thank you so much for leaving a comment. It sounds like you’re doing every thing right. I think slowly starting to do light exercise will help tremendously. Maybe just a 15 minute walk and work up to it. I have an exercise band. It’s great (I’ll post a link in my next blog) and I can use it to do light arm strengthening while on the computer or watching TV.
Again, thanks for commenting! I feel truly blessed that you did!
Hi Sandi – I’m back from another impromptu holiday this time at the lake… so back to Dukan PP for me this week. But hey, YAY for you!!!! You have done so well, you are over your target loss by a long way now. So happy for you, I bet you feel a million dollars. Well done.
Message for Carly in your comments above – I think it was chapter 8 in the WheatBelly book addresses celiac and arthritis – you don’t need to buy the book – but if you stay away from Wheat (in all forms which doing Dukan you would be) HOPEFULLY some of your pain and symptoms decrease and if you happen to have wheat you might notice the symptoms increase again, see what you think – you may need to stay away from wheat later in the 3rd and 4th phases too.
Welcome back!! I do feel like a million bucks 🙂 I still have a 6 days to reach that goal of 55 pounds, lol 🙂 The 4 days of PP kicked me in and over the 60# mark… yay!!!
Looking forward to a post from you!
Thanks for the message to Carly… I was thinking the same thing. I have to tell you my knees are SO much better and it’s not just the weight loss!
