Thursday was a PP day π
Daily weight loss: 0.2 lb/0.1 kg
Total weight loss: 51.7 lb/23.51 kg
Well, I’ve been playing with the same pound for 10 days… I’m going to do another 4 days of Pure Protein to see if I can get out of it!!! I need to lose just .25 pounds to be under it… seeming difficult to do! I cut out the extra coffees and drank almost 1.5 liters of water yesterday… and I’ll make today another PP day.
Breakfast: 2 tea eggs, 550 mL water, coffee
Lunch: Beef slices, garlic stems, 550 mL water
Snack: Earl Grey tea
Dinner: Stir-fried sirloin with one whole onion and garlic cloves
Snack: FF Greek Yogurt with splenda and bran
My exercise is walking to and from work each day, which is 1 mile/1.5 kg. And most nights I take an extra 30 minute around the complex I live in. 3x a week I do Couch to 5K, but have been lax on it since Lucy’s arrival.
The 2 things I have done this month are taking the stairs down each and every time (I work on the 4th floor) and up most of the time. This week has been difficult since I picked up some allergies in Shanghai and have been hacking away and having a hard time breathing, so the going up is usually restricted to one or two floors, going all the way to the 4th just about does me in!
The second thing I’ve done is used the squat toilets at work. Now I know most people, unfamiliar with these things, think “ewwww”… and often times they are, but the ones at my work are cleaned all day by our wonderful cleaning staff. (I’ll post pic later, as I forgot to take one yesterday). Anyway… when it started getting cold a few weeks ago, sitting on the pot was a freezing situation! The area is not warmed. So, I decided I would use the squat pots and viola’ no more cold hiney! The other advantage of course is my quads are getting stronger, and I can now manage to get up without grabbing a hold of the walls…. LOL. So, I feel I’m getting a little extra exercise in this way. When you are on a mostly protein diet you pee a lot, so I’m squatting a lot π
Well, I need to get ready for work… walking out the door in 10 minutes! I hope everyone has a great night’s sleep!
Ciao!

Edited to add two things… a link and a picture π
This link is to ehow.com. I love this web site because you can find out anything on there!! Before going to India 3 years ago I looked up how to ride an Asian elephant… before moving to China….Β http://www.ehow.com/how_2316739_use-chinese-squat-toilet.html
And this is NOT from my work. The squat toilets there are on a platform and much prettier than the one I used at the mall this evening π But, this is a typical Chinese squat toilet. If you read the directions above, you’ll get the WHOLE picture much better!
You did lose the minimum you needed to in order to reach your target but looking at your daily intake a whoosh has got to be just around the corner!! I trust you are not hungry – it does not look like you are eating much but it seems you don’t need to when eating so much protein well at least that is how I have found this diet. I just don’t get hungry.
Good work on the quad strengthening – I know the loos you are talking about as I came across them in France and then Egypt definitely a good quad-toner using them.
That’s the first thing I thought of when I got on the scale this morning… your message from yesterday and how much I needed to lose daily π I’m hoping a whoosh is on the way!
I think my visitor Lucy is going to start tomorrow on the Dukan, so I”m going to do the 4 pure protein days of Attack with her.. that should kick my ass into gear!
Will upload the pic and a link later π
Squats are amazing for legs! It’s so satisfying, isn’t it? – when you see a change in strength to the point where you can suddenly stand up from a complete squat – I love to feel like I’m pushing up through my toes.I agree with Angel, you’ve got a whoosh coming around the corner. π

It is satisfying and I love that I can get up without assistance now π I’m putting an ehow.com link in the edited version of this blog tonight that talks about squatting like you’re on an exercise ball, when in fact… it’s better and easier to go into a full squat.. I’m going to visualize the pushing up through the toes at work tomorrow π
All I’d say is take care of your knees! Doing incorrect squats can cause damage and knee strain before the strength is there.
Very interesting info. Once I have surgery behind me, I hope to start my walks again. And the squats will be helpful too. You are my inspiration. >3 Mom
Charlotte!!! Good advise! I have awful knees and I’ve been super careful with them, but it only takes one time of not being mindful to really mess them up!
Mom… As usual you inspire ME! 80 years old and still thinking about exercise. You’ll be good as new after your back surgery and walking Gracie again. Love you!
Please hear laughter and chuckles. And visualize my smile as I shake my head.
LOL, Kathy π And it’s the 27th and I’ve still used the squat toilet every single time at work this month! I even waited in LINE when the normal toilet was available… that really confused my coworkers!
