Friday was a PP day 🙂
First… thanks to those that stop in… I reached 10,000 page views while I was sleeping last night… that is AWESOME!
Daily Weight Loss: 0.7 lb/0.30 kg
Total Weight Loss: 52.4 lb/23.81 kg
Well… finally kicked that pounds ass! It can be quite frustrating to get on the scale for 10 days and stay within the same pound. 1/2 pound up, 3/4 pounds down, but finally did it. Getting closer and closer to my January goal (just need 1/2 a pound!) It seems to be getting tougher, but I’ll persevere. Logically I realize that I should only be losing 1-2 pounds a week at this point… but the I WANT IT NOW me wants it NOW 😀
My friend Lucy, who is visiting for a month, is officially starting the Dukan with me today. She’s kind of been in a forced Dukan menu for 2 weeks, has lost nearly 2 kgs and figured she may as well go all in. So, no more rice at lunch for her! We shopped last night for groceries and they were pumping in the baking bread smell hardcore… I am sure that stores and restaurants (like McD’s) have special ventilators that waft that stuff out of the store into our brains and make us want to buy their crap! Well, dammit… it didn’t work! I did however have to repeat Moonday’s Philosophy over and over.
I have kept my progress on a spreadsheet created by the amazing Charlotte, and will start one for Lucy today, as well. The spreadsheet has been an amazing way to track my progress and see the overall picture… thanks SO MUCH, Charlotte xoxo
Now off to work, where we have a Christmas Party this afternoon… should be fun!
Ciao!

I love the fact that Lucy’s been on enforced Dukan with you and has “accidentally” dropped 2kgs! My question is though, does she *need* to?
Something that we have to be super-aware of, is that we’re not trying to lose weight to comply with some standard that media has foisted upon us (or at least, that’s the plan). We’re should be trying to lose weight to be more healthy, to be able to walk/run/skate further, to be able to stand up easily from squat toilets without touching the manky walls, to be able to get up in the morning and not feel stiff. To be able to know that we’re healthier.
Don’t let Lucy do Dukan unless this is her goal as well!!
What I’m trying to get at is – we’re all beautiful, strong people, and we should aim to be happy and strong in ourselves, and not conform to anything society tries to mould us into. I want to lose weight because it makes me feel more energetic. In fact, I feel a blog entry coming on about this!! 🙂
Unless Lucy feels like she’s carrying extra which is unhealthy for her, you tell her that she’s beautiful just the way she is, and that her body needs carbs unless it has its own supply!!!!! 🙂
What a wise and wonderful response! I can’t wait to read your latest blog. Lucy does need to lose weight (her words). She is gorgeous just the way she is, but knows she’ll feel better with less weight. Dr. Dukan says she has 14 kg to lose. She was within 2 kg of her true weight when asked what she thought her true weight should be (much more reality based than me, LOL, I said I should be 20 pounds lighter!)
I’m going to go read your latest, think about it and pull the answer from my soul… Better wait until I’m done with work and I’m at home 🙂

Woo Hoo you kicked that pound’s ass and you are now ahead of schedule… keep up the great work! Moonday’s Philosophy is going to be used a lot by us all over the next few weeks – running the gauntlet at the moment is proving to be very tough – can’t wait til Xmas gatherings are over it is a real test of the will power at the moment!!
It’s definitely a challenging month… The good news, we’re past the halfway mark!! I think I’m lucky since I’m in China for Christmas and won’t be around all the goodies at home 🙂
Wish Lucy my best in her trip to better health. Never thought she was heavy. And she is beautiful inside and out. So happy for you both. >3 Mom
Best of luck to Lucy.
Nice to see that pound in the past. Good work.
