Dukan – Day 50

Today was a PV day.
Daily weight loss: +0.9 lb/+0.4 kg
Total weight loss: 29.5 lb/13.41 kg

Well, a little disappointed that I gained nearly a pound, but knew it had to happen at some point! I woke up sore as hell from my first workout in 3 years! Actually almost to the day… But a good sore. A “oh wow, I forgot about THOSE muscles” sore. I work out again tomorrow 🙂

Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs
Snack: FF cottage cheese
Lunch: Tuna with an egg mashed up and Dijon mustard
Dinner: 2 small pork chops, salad, mushrooms and garlic stems

I ate dinner late and didn’t get my walk in after dinner. I did walk the 1.5 km to work and back, for a total of 3 km and 40 or so mins walking at a brisk pace.

I hope everyone has a blessed day!

  1. Its normal to gain a bit of weight when excercising, like my mom says the important thing is the volume not the weight. Muscles are heavy and if you start to tone them you will see it in the scales, just keep it up you will see your body slimming!!

    • I’m hoping that’s what it is, although I’m sure my ongoing calories were less than outgoing. I think it was a combo of eating late, typical tummy troubles of a high protein diet 😉 and the fluctuations we normally see. We’ll see when I get on that scale tomorrow morning 🙂 thanks for the support!!!

  2. Hey Sandi!

Don’t worry about the extra pound – you’re always going to be retaining water in your muscles if you’ve had a heavy workout, esp if you’re hurting the next day. Your body will probably hold onto that extra water for a couple of days, till your muscles heal a bit…

    • Thanks, Charlotte… and glad to see you back! I didn’t realize that about the water retention with the muscle aches from working out, but it makes sense… thanks for the support 🙂

    • Thanks, Caroline… just sticking to the diet. I finally found FF cottage cheese!!! But went back to get more and they were out, it’s my new “dessert”… almost seems cheaty! Did you find an absolutely gorgeous bag at the sale???

  3. Congrats on your ongoing success! I catch up with your blog every couple of days and you always sound so enthusiastic. And you are so good with the challenges you face. I’ve been on Dukan a couple of days longer than you – just a couple – and have lost 23 pounds. I’m thrilled to bits with it and although I wish I was losing more quickly, I am in perimenopause which really does make it harder. I’ve completely changed my bad eating habits into good ones, and I stick to the 100 foods allowed in Cruise religiously. I agree with the insights into weighing every day. Any bit of a gain, even if it is from water retention, just makes me more determined. The loss of a pound or even any fraction of a pound, is a triumph, and for me, gone for good. All the best for your continued success.!

    • Thanks, Jen! I’ve always tried to live life by the half glass full philosophy. No sense in being miserable. 🙂
Congrats on your weightless!!! As a midwife, I know how tough perimenopause can be on a woman’s body. All the more power to you that you are having success! Thanks so much for stopping in and leaving a message… much appreciated 🙂

  4. You are doing wonderfully well. The water weight gain will disappear soon enough. I am always amazed at what you accomplish. You are doing great under difficult circumstances. Keep up the good work.

  5. I know what you mean … the “oh, those muscles” burn is great, in a certain way – but I also hate that the scale goes up after a good workout. It seems unfair and ironic … but it will go down even faster once you get used to working out! I am due back at the gym myself tonight …

    • Oh do let me know how it goes for you. I worked out again this morning and I’m feeling it… I want to figure out which exercise I’m doing that is making the very middle, very down low abdominal muscle feel sore… a GOOD sore, I might add. I haven’t felt that muscle in a LONG time 🙂
