Today was a PP day 🙂
Daily Weight Loss: 0.2 lb/0.1 kg
Total Weight Loss: 26.2 lb/11.91 kg
So today is the celebration of 6 weeks on Dukan. Wow! I can’t believe how fast time has gone by. Technically, I started the program on Monday, Aug 22nd, but I did my initial weigh in and did all my shopping for the first week on Saturday, Aug 20th, so when I count my days, I do it from there. Funny, instead of eating all my faves on that Saturday and Sunday, I actually ate better, and by Monday had lost a little bit 🙂
I hesitate writing this next bit, because I don’t want to be called a jammy git by my Brit friends. But I am proud of myself. Even though I’ve been traveling for most of this 6 week Dukan journey, I have NOT, to my knowledge, eaten a single thing NOT on the program. No bread, no rice, no potatoes, no pasta. It hasn’t been that difficult actually. No sweets, either. Tempted, somewhat, but I’ve got that big ass picture from my class reunion where it’s easily accessible (desktop of lap top, desktop in iPhone, it’s own file in my iPad photos) and if I even think of it… I yank that picture in front my eyes 😀 To remind you of that picture, here it is: https://flamidwyfe.wordpress.com/2011/08/19/i-can-dukan/ While rereading that initial blog I got such a happy feeling with the positive feedback I got from those that commented… I think it is SO important to have that encouragement. To empower one another and cheer each other on! Isn’t that what life SHOULD be about, supporting each other!
So here’s my day:
Walked 1 hour 8 minutes… yup… I’ve got a timer. Did it in 2 different segments, one in the early afternoon, one in the evening.
Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs, 1/2 liter water, coffee… funny note here. I’m making sure I get my water in by drinking it BEFORE I allow myself coffee or diet coke. I’ve actually found that for most meals, I don’t want the coffee or diet coke because the water has satiated my thirst and filled up my tummy… my consumption of such beverages has diminished considerably in the last 6 weeks!
Lunch: 4 slices of ham, pot of yogurt w/oat brand and splenda, 1/2 liter water
Snack (eaten while shopping for more food) 1 boiled egg. People look at you funny when you peel and eat a boiled egg from your backpack 😉 Sipping water while shopping.
Dinner: Sirloin strips with onion and garlic, sauteed with some herbs on top. I only ate half of this… just not as hungry as I used to be… this would be a good thing 😀
Snack: AND THE BEST PART OF THE DAY!!! I found FAT FREE cottage cheese at the market… WOO HOO!!! Had 1/2 a pot, savored it, swirled it around my mouth like a fine wine… it was YUMMY! Actually, divine… a divine little snack and a 1/2 liter of water.
I want to thank those of you that comment consistently and infrequently… it is a HUGE encouragement to me… keep it up… I go back and read them nearly every day!
Ciao!
Congrats on your 6-week Dukan anniversary — and on doing so well on the diet! Nearly 12 kg lost in just six weeks…that’s awesome… 🙂
Thanks, Vicki!!! It’s the support and my other Dukaner buddies blogs that keep me going! Now off to read your blog 🙂
You are doing so fabulously well…i do think you should post a pic this week though so we can see the difference 🙂
I’ll see if I can get a pic today or tomorrow 🙂
I can’t wait to squeeze little you!! Only 39 (?) days!!
xoxoxoxo Congrats. Great job.
I can’t think of anything I could add to the comments above. Except I’m proud and keep up the good work. Looking forward to the final result. ❤ Mom
You are amazing. First I know how busy you are and little things like being with a patient and needing to keep your fluids up and needing to go to the bathroom is so every difficult. Yes, every job has that but in medicine it is so different. Others can figure it out, you can excuse your self, you can get relief. Teachers can go to the bathroom between classes. Babies do not excuse you and wait. (See comic in your head.)
That may seem like a small thing but it is not when that is how you you must live.
Reward yourself by appreciating where you are today. It is too soon to buy new clothes but appreciate this moment in time and your body right now. How often women look back ten or twenty years and think how we did not celebrate or appreciate our bodies. We saw our faults instead.
Walk proudly with your head held high.. (Tighen that butt too when you walk proudly!!)
Kath… your words are so right on! I will wait to buy clothes until the spring… for now safety pins. I am buying 2 pairs of pants this week… black dress slacks and a pair of jeans… they should hold me over 🙂 Are you saying that in addition to sucking my gut in I have to think about tightening my butt, too!!!! I will work on that and get back to you! Thanks SO much for your inspiring words! xoxo
