I’m doing the Dukan dance ๐
I was up 17 pounds over my Dukan True Weight, 27 pounds over my goal weight and when I had to suck it in last week to put on those size 8 jeans I worked my ass off to get into, I took control and jumped back in.
Problem… been eating too many gluten free replacement foods. Like Mary’s Gone Crackers. Oh, and maybe a bag of Fritos Originals once a week, or so. And maybe a glass of wine or two a week. And it adds up… I maintained at the 148-152 for over 6 months and then I got complacent. And I don’t mean eating poorly… because I don’t eat poorly at all, ever… I mean adding in too many carbs and probably too much fat and not paying attention.
Funny enough, I’ve had PLENTY of exercise. Although I haven’t been running, I walk 4.5 miles 4x a week. And bike ride more than 10 miles on Sunday. And I gained 12 of those pounds above in Australia where I was more active than ever! Hiking, climbing, snorkeling and swimming nearly every single day. And walking each night with the family I was staying with after dinner. Carbs… they don’t like me.
Weights for the week:
6/17 – 82.5 kg – 182 lb
6/18 – 81.2 kg – 179 lb
6/20 – 80.6 kg – 177.75 lb
6/21 – 80.0 kg – 176.4 lb
Nearly 6 pounds off in 5 days… happy girl ๐
Food today:
Breakfast: 2 hard fried eggs and 3 slices lean bacon (yes, I know bacon isn’t Dukan… not giving it up!)
Lunch: 4 slices of london broil roast beef slices & 4 slices of low fat Cheddar rolled up together
Snack: 2 boiled eggs
Dinner: 7 oz. chicken breast stir fried with onions and spices
Snack: Fat Free Greek yogurt with 1 pkt Splenda and 2 Tbs flaxseed meal
Feeling better about things… back on track. Gotta look fab for my 50th bday which is a short 5 months away ๐
How is everyone else doing?
Ciao!
Hi Sandi ๐
I have no doubt you’ll get things back in line…but do keep in mind that you may be gaining lean body mass, not fat, which will show up as a scale gain but is not a bad thing ๐ Are you still planning your trip in the trailer? Even though the tri did not pan out, it would be great to meet up….Kaye left a message on oceannah about creating a time/place for meet up…any interest?

Carbs are back on my menu too. I am trying to take them out, again. Gained a few, lost some of those, but not willing to look again :(. I know Dukan ‘works’ BUT I do not like all of the idea of it. No sugar, fruit’s included, yet yes on the splenda and fake stuff(I did start using stevia). An apple is way better for me than some oat bran and egg concoction with splenda. BUT Dukan works. The carbs make me hungry!! eat rice at dinner and I am starving in the morning. Once I start eating sugar I can’t stop. — ALL food does to me like wheat/gluten does to my hubby, once it passes my lips I CRAVE it all the more. I am a food junky. That again is why Dukan works, I can eat all the time, then the two main triggers were gone, the carbs and sugar. I pray that someday I can be like those that have to remember to eat.
Carbs are my krypton ๐ฆ I have been a good girl all week and it’s paid off! THere were some definite tough moments, though!
Happy you’re back on track.Keep it up.
Ahhhh Sandi
Your post was what I needed today to get me back on track! I lost 10 kgs last year when you were in China… YOU were my daily inspiration!
5kgs have crept back on… but as of right now I am with you lady! Daily weigh-ins and food accountability.
16 days to turning 40 and I would love to drop a few kilos. I am 10kgs heavier than you at this time. .. so I hope to keep it that way… following you back down!
Yay! I definitely need a Dukan buddy ๐
We can do it!!
I’m happy you are back on track. I returned from a week- long stay in San Francisco…and regardless of the miles and miles of walking and trekking up those hills, my pants are impossible to zip up…aargh! Thanks to pizza, pasta, sandwiches. I too am starting Dukan again, I have 25 lbs to lose. Thanks Sandy for being so open!
You’re welcome… it’s a tough road but winnable! It just takes vigilance to stay on task and continue with the changes we learn that are good for us ๐
Well, I have a baby in my belly now – but its no excuse!! carbs are so hard to give up, ive switched to rice crackers to try and eliminate bread at lunchtimes! well done on your loss though! dukan really does work. as soon as I feel better and we have a kitchen again i am gonna get back on it!!
Because you know what those simple carbs do to you, you need to really watch it during pregnancy… people with insulin resistance and wheat intolerance are at risk for gestational diabetes during pregnancy… Here’s hoping you get your kitchen back soon ๐
I think Carbs LOVE you like they love me. the 10lbs I lost on Dukan crept back on to 15 over the past year — and it was the carbs .. now that I am in a mindset to go at it again, I use the Dukan approach most of the time .. and it’s coming off ๐
Hugs to you Sandi-girl – you’re always inspiring!
MJ
Thanks, MJ xoxoxo Carbs are not my friend, as much as I love them ๐ฆ
I’m doing pretty well on it and thanking God I don’t have a lot to lose… just a bit!
whoop!
