Bus Update
Oh my goodness, I have not done a good job keeping up on this blog. I have been crazy busy with getting use to life on the bus, running my internet based business, holidays and lots of other things. But here’s a lovely update for you!
Moved on to the bus November 6th. Moved the bus from my friend Nicole’s property (who I can’t thank enough! So, so grateful for the 5 weeks I parked the bus there to get the thing gutted and the floor and bed in!) and moved it to my friend Cyndi’s place. In a very eclectic and awesome neighborhood! I also got BeBe, Max and Dax back from the amazing friends and family that were keeping them for me. Kodie, my shepherd/cur mix, is going to stay on with Cyndi, but the cool thing is, she’s 20 feet from the bus 🙂

Since we all work during the week, weekends are when most of the work gets done, but we did squeak in some cleaning mid-week with the help of my friend Catherine and my daughter Tiffany 🙂

This morning I went up to Lowe’s and picked up a quart of paint to cover the back 1/4 of the bus, since the plan is to have the floor in back there and the bed platform built tomorrow. So I wanted to have the walls painted before hand.

Very thoughtful commentary. It begs the questions; How much do we really know? And how is it that we allow the media and others to shape OUR opinion?
Let me be as candid and transparent as possible: I was a very strong supporter of Bernie Sanders, and until the past four weeks, held out great hope that he would become our next President. Over the course of the past month, I have had to do a great deal of reflecting and ask myself where does this seemingly irrational antipathy for Hillary Clinton come from? Why have I participated in it? After doing some research and looking hard at systemic misogyny, I have had to confront myself with the truth that I bought into a narrative about Hillary Clinton that has been produced, packaged, and perpetuated by mostly the GOP with the help of many democrats and independents.
This narrative is a 30-year-old vilification of a woman who is bright, independent, wealthy, and powerful — a woman who asks for what she wants and needs. How very dare you…

I woke up after a wonderful sleep in an Airbnb house this morning. And called Mr. Walsh at the Culpeper school transportation depot and he came and picked me up.
The bus had been serviced and filled up. And after we did our paperwork he took me out and walked me through some of the special things on the bus. She looks fantastic! Besides four spots that need to be puttied up her body is in excellent condition. He gave me a quick lesson in how to use the airbrakes and then have me demonstrate that I knew how to use them.
I got on the road and headed east towards I 95. And met a friend of mine, Mary, who I’ve known via the Internet for more than 15 years. And then I got on I 95 south in Virginia and headed home.
I stopped for a complete fill up before leaving Virginia because the gas was so much cheaper than North Carolina. The truckers at the truckstop were really awesome helping me figure out the diesel pump and I checked the fluids and all were OK.
I’ve made it as far is Selma, North Carolina. I’ll get up early in the morning and continue my journey home.

9/15/16 – Fort Pierce A peaceful vigil in support of the Islamic Center of Fort Pierce tonight. It was attended by more than 100 people of all faiths. About 25 people stood out on Midway Rd with signs showing support for the member of the mosque, while more than 100 people stood inside the courtyard of the Islamic Center listening to speeches given by local member of the mosque, the Chaplain from the SLCSO and Bruno Moore, running for state Senate. There did not appear to be any counter-protesters, but there was a lot of support from cars driving down Midway Road. The vigil lasted for approximately 1 hour.

I was introduced to Bullet Journaling last month by Kristi Ridd-Young the President of the Midwives College of Utah. I have been working on improving my time management and she talked to me about the Bullet Journal and why it works for her.
So I did a lot of research and realized this could be something that works for me. This is the best place to start if you want to learn more about this type of journaling: The Bullet Journal. The original Bullet Journal is not available in the U.S. right now and is shipping from the U.K. for more $$ than the journal itself, so I did some research and found other companies that sell “dot grid” notebooks and ordered from a really cool company called Cognitive Surplus. They are a science based notebook company with really awesome colors! I bought the Cellular Biology Vintage Softcover for my first journal and the Mathematics Vintage Softcover for my second.

So for tonight I’ve got the front page and my index pages done and I’m off to bed… last night was a late night getting back from Maroon 5 in Miami! 😀 Taking my quick reference guide to bed with me to do a little studying.
